About Our Program
Halifax Girls Basketball League (HGBL) is a non-profit program that allows girls from Halifax, MA in the 2nd-8th grades the opportunity for exercise, to learn and develop basketball skills, and to socialize with their peers on a recreational and competitive level. In-Town Rec games are played at the Halifax Elementary School gym and are divided into 2nd/3rd/4th, 5th/6th, & 7th/8th Grade Divisions. HGBL strives to keep it's registration rates low and affordable for all families in town and no girl will be denied the opportunity to participate due to financial hardship. HGBL also forms Travel Teams for grades 4-8 that compete against other towns in the Old Colony Girls Basketball league and various tournaments.

In-Town Rec League
Our In-Town Recreation League is open to girls of all skill levels, with a focus on development, teamwork, and fun! Players will compete with and against other Halifax girls in three divisions:
2nd–4th Grade, 5th–6th Grade, and 7th–8th Grade.
Games played at Halifax Elementary School.
Travel Basketball
Travel Girls Basketball is a competitive program for girls in 4th–8th grade who are ready to represent Halifax against teams from other towns in the Old Colony League. Players try out for a team and compete in scheduled league games, with home games played in Halifax and away games requiring travel to other towns.
